Working Groups of the Barcelona Asbestos Eradication Roundtable

The Barcelona Asbestos Eradication Roundtable — TEAB — is moving forward with the creation of dedicated working groups to address specific areas related to the identification, management and safe removal of asbestos in the city.

TEAB was formally established on 23 January 2026 at Barcelona City Council, following a proposal by FAVB and the group of retired Macosa-Alstom workers affected by asbestos. Its members include neighbourhood associations, hospitals, professional associations, trade unions, specialised organisations and the relevant public administrations.

The presidency may also convene specific working groups to examine concrete issues in greater depth.

This initiative reinforces Barcelona’s commitment to public health, occupational health, environmental protection, prevention, remembrance and justice for asbestos victims.
