BIOSPAIN is one of the leading conferences in Europe that brings together more than 850 innovative organizations working in health, sustainable agri-food and solutions to climate change. More than 1,500 professionals from 30 countries are taking part in this event, with more than 200 exhibitors and more than 50 investors. AseBio expects to hold more than 3,500 one-on-one meetings during these days. The congress will have an exhibition space, about 40 conferences on various topics, company presentations and networking activities.

The main objective of this event is to promote innovation, investment, collaboration and new business opportunities in the European biotechnology field.

This event offers a unique opportunity for European start-ups and innovators, in particular SMEs, researchers, corporates as well as potential investors and venture capitalists to connect and network. Mariya Gabriel, the European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth will officially launch the EIC Forum and announce the winners of the EIC Women Innovators Prize and the iCapital Award.. 

The EBAN Congress will welcome more than 400 Business Leaders; Early Stage Investors; Business Angels; VCs; Entrepreneurs; Accelerators; Corporates; Policy Makers Seed Funds and Startups. The event will focus on how business angel investors can support the EU on accelerating the innovation cycle and overcome the many challenges our society faces in the aftermath of the Covid-19 crisis.

The EBAN Annual Congress is widely recognized as one of Europe’s largest international private investment & entrepreneurship events. The event will take place over a three-days, including Investor Led Workshops, Keynotes, pitching sessions, round table workshops etc.

The aim of the meeting is to recognise all the professionals who contribute, work and collaborate in finding solutions to the asbestos problem from different fields of action, including research, clinical, legal, administrative, public and occupational health, architecture, construction and the neighbourhood movement, among others. 

The presentation will be accompanied by a visit to the permanent exhibition of the Macosa Space, an initiative promoted by the Macosa-Alstom pensioners' collective with the support of the Sant Martí District of Barcelona City Council and inaugurated on 31 March 2017. The space integrates the remodelation of the Besòs Water Tower, completed in 1882, was built to supply drinking water to Barcelona’s residents. In 1888, the tower was integrated into the steelworks complex of Can Girona (later known as MACOSA). The water tower is an iconic symbol of industrialised Barcelona. In 1993, the company closed and the complex was completely abandoned. In 1996, all of the buildings were demolished, except for the water tower and its valve house in annex., The project to recover the Besòs Water Tower has been developed by the architects Antoni Vilanova and Eduard Simó, who will be present as well . The Macosa space, located at the crossroads of Llull and Provenzal streets, has different elements such as large-format photographs that serve to show the passage of the great factory and the evolution that took place from 1861 to 1994.

During the meeting the comBermes project is focused  on its innovative anticancer therapy for treating malignant mesothelioma, a rare but very aggresive and incurable cancer related to asbestos exposure. The project received the support of the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 SME funding program.
