Narcís Clavell
Chairman of the Board

A Telecommunications Engineer since 1974, with a Master degree in Information Technologies and a Master in Business Administration (MBA). He has extensive experience in sensor technology and co-operative research in the area of European projects for the new technologies development. He is also founder of CRIC (Centre de Recerca i Investigació de Catalunya), a private multidisciplinary research centre that aims to assist small and medium sized enterprises to become more competitive through technological innovation.

 

Carmen Plasencia
Chief Executive Officer

Ms. Plasencia holds a Ph.D. in Medicine (2002, Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona) and a B.Sc. in Chemistry (1995, Biochemistry specialist,  Universidad de Barcelona). She developed her doctoral thesis in the Laboratory of Molecular Biology at the Oncology Department of the Hospital Universitari Germans Trias I Pujol where she specialized in pre-clinical evaluation of antitumor agents and the evaluation of resistance mechanisms to chemotherapy.  She joined CRIC after spending two years at the University of Southern California (California, USA) where she developed her work as Post-doctoral Research Associate at the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department of the School of Pharmacy. She is specialist in biochemistry, biomedicine, oncology and molecular biology including the application of new technologies such as proteomics and genomics in drug discovery and development. Ms. Plasencia has also been part of multidisciplinary teams engaged in R&D projects for national and international public institutions and pharmaceutical corporations. She has published many times, with contributions that include articles in international and national journals, reviews and book chapters. Dr. Plasenica has acted as evaluator of proposals for European Commission FP7 Health and NMP programs and Marie Curie Actions on several occasions, and also as a short-term lecturer for several organizations in Europe on Ethical Issues in European projects.

 

Irene Larroy
Financial Officer

Ms. Larroy is a Chemical Engineer (2001, Universitat de Barcelona). She has proven experience in both the public and private sectors, and extensive experience in European Research Projects. Throughout her career, Ms. Larroy has been involved in structuring, negotiating and closing a significant number of strategic transactions including coordination of multiple projects and partnering with various enterprises and government organisations. She is also founder of LAVIC Technolgies, a private consultancy on R&D&I projects.

 

Inmaculada Dalmau
Business Development Assistant

Ms. Dalmau has a degree in Science Education and a Postgraduate degree in Pharmaceuticals. Since 1991 she has worked in business development, marketing and sales, for several pharmaceutical companies (Pharmacia, Becton Dickinson) as well as multinational medical publishing companies.
